what makes us special

At our Gokula Gir Gaushala, we prioritize a non-exploitative relationship with our Gaumatas (cows). We commit to providing lifelong care, ensuring that older, non-lactating Gaumatas and male calves live out their natural lives with dignity. Each Gaumata receives high-quality food and water, regardless of milk production, to ensure their well-being and health. We align our methods with nature, avoiding artificial insemination and synthetic hormone treatments for breeding or milk production. Our experienced team "Gopalaks" (cow caretakers) provides personalized attention to each Gaumata, guaranteeing their physical and emotional well-being. By adopting these principles, we foster a harmonious and respectful coexistence with our Gaumatas.

Ayurvedic Treatment

We harness the power of Ayurveda to optimize Gaumata's well-being by incorporating a carefully selected blend of medicinal herbs into her feed, tailored to the specific weather and seasonal conditions. This holistic approach enhances her health and vitality. Whenever possible, we rely on the ancient wisdom of Bharatiya Ayurvedic practices to treat any ailments, reserving modern medicine for exceptional cases. By combining traditional knowledge with gentle care, we create a nurturing environment that honors Gaumata's natural rhythms and promotes her overall flourishing.

Organic Feed

Our Gaushala provides Gaumata with expansive open grazing spaces, meticulously maintained using organic fertilizers to ensure a thriving ecosystem. We also offer her specially formulated organic feed, carefully crafted based on rigorous research into her nutritional needs and personal preferences. Interestingly, our findings reveal that Gaumata instinctively gravitates towards grasses rich in medicinal and nutritional value, which also offer practical benefits. Furthermore, any external feed sources we procure, such as cotton seeds or jowar, are strictly non-GMO and organic whenever possible, guaranteeing a wholesome and chemical-free diet that aligns with nature's intentions.

Traditional Dohan Practices

We follow the traditional Bharatiya practice of 'dohan', which prioritizes the calf's needs and well-being. In this method, the calf is allowed to freely feed from two quarters (anchals) of its mother's milk to its heart's content, while the remaining two quarters are gently harvested for the benefit of other living beings, including humans. This ancient approach ensures a harmonious balance between nurturing the calf and sharing the nourishment with the community.
